Ucloo Privacy Policy
Ucloo respects your right to privacy and we are committed to protecting it. This statement discloses the information practices for Ucloo websites, including what type of information we gather and track, how we use the information, and with whom we share the information.
Personal Information
In general, you can visit Ucloo on the Internet without telling us who you are and without giving any personal information about yourself. However, you may choose to give us personal information in a variety of situations. For example, you may want to give us information such as your name and address or e-mail ID so we may correspond with you, process an order, or provide you with a subscription or service. You may give us your credit card details to buy a product or service from us, or provide us a description of your education and work experience in connection with a job opening at Ucloo for which you wish to be considered. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you of how Ucloo will use your information before you provide it. If you tell us that you do not want us to use this information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your requests, we will respect your wishes. If you give us personal information about somebody else, such as a spouse or associate, we will assume that you have their permission to do so.
Using and Sharing Personal Information
The following paragraphs describe in more detail how Ucloo may use the personal information you provide to us and with whom we may share it. Depending on the type of Ucloo website you are visiting, one or more of the following paragraphs may apply. For example, if you order a product from a Ucloo website, your information will be handled as described in the paragraphs below entitled "Fulfilling Your Transaction Request" and "Marketing Use."
What information does Ucloo use to create its Web Summaries?
Ucloo is a summarization search engine that scans websites and gathers information it finds about people and companies. This information is gathered from the same publicly available web sources that are searched by other major public search engines and accessible to any person surfing the web. Once we have collected information about a person, we combine multiple mentions of the same person into an individual Web Summary. The resulting Web Summaries are then made available to the public through the Ucloo service.
Additionally, Ucloo allows users to create and/or update their own Web Summary. Any information provided by a user to be part of his or her Web Summary will be available to the public as part of the Ucloo service. Users who create and/or update their own Web Summary can change or delete any information they provide if they choose to do so. Please use caution when posting personal identifiable information.
Other Information Collection and Use
Like many other web-based service providers, Ucloo collects limited non-personally identifiable information provided by your browser as you use our website and services. This is done in order to provide the best possible services to you and our other users. This non-personally identifiable information may include (but is not limited to) IP address, browser type, time and date of use, and any activity performed while on our website or using our services. We may also place and/or read cookies on your computer to help us identify whether you have visited our site in the past so we can customize our services and your experience. Ucloo takes note of the website that referred you to our website, but otherwise we do not gather information about web pages you have visited before or after visiting our website.
When you are viewing a Web Summary on Ucloo, you will have the opportunity to forward it via email to a friend or email the person named in the Web Summary. If you choose to use one of these features, we may require you to submit your name and email address and/or the name and email address of your friend. Ucloo uses this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and will not store the information or use it for any other purpose.
Visitors to our site may choose to submit their personally identifiable information so that they can learn more about our services or register to take part in a Ucloo- sponsored event. This personally identifiable information may be associated with non- personally identifiable information which may include (but is not limited to) IP address, browser type, time and date of use, and any activity performed while on our website or using our services.
In order to make use of certain Ucloo online products and services you may be required to register as a user. From time to time we may use your personal email address to send you information and keep you informed of products and services in which you might be interested. You will always be provided with an opportunity to opt-out of receiving such information. Your contact information may also be used to reach you regarding issues concerning your use of our services or our site, including changes to this privacy policy. Your information may also be used to assist in the better targeting of search results and advertising as part of your use of this service.
Ucloo may aggregate subsets of non-personally identifiable customer data for the purpose of understanding our customer base, determining how we may serve you better, and enhancing the services that we and our customers can provide you.
Confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information
Ucloo will not sell, rent, license or otherwise share the personally identifiable contact information (i.e., your registration email address, billing address, etc.) that you submit in the context of registration for our services or that we otherwise collect. If you register for a Ucloo event with a third-party speaker, your personally identifiable contact information will generally be shared with the speaker.
Information that you may provide, at your discretion, in creating or updating your Web Summary, however, is intended for public disclosure and thus can be viewed by third parties.
Children
The products and services of Ucloo are not targeted to or intended for children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you may not submit information about yourself to Ucloo. Ucloo reserves the right to remove any information from its service at its own discretion.
Sharing of Public Web Summary Information
All information that is contributed by our users for inclusion in their public Web Summaries, in addition to that collected by us from public web sources, will be available to Ucloo and anyone using the Ucloo website and other Ucloo services. If you would like us to remove your Web Summary from our service, please contact us, and we will gladly remove your information.
NOTE: Ucloo only collects and displays information that can already be found on any public search engine. Because the web is constantly changing and we search millions of new and old web pages every day, your information may be acquired again by our service without our knowledge. We recommend that you check back weekly to ensure that your Web Summary contains only the information you choose to have displayed, and that our search tools have not re-discovered previously deleted information. The best way to avoid having your information found by our search engine (or any other search engine) is to contact the operator of the website that contains the original source(s) of the information and ask for the operator to remove the displayed information from the web.
Fulfilling your Transaction Request
If you request something from a Ucloo website, for example, searching information on other people, a product or service, a callback, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. To help us do this, we may share information with others, for instance, when using the reverse search function, Ucloo Business Partners, financial institutions, or postal or government authorities may participate in fulfilling your request.
Marketing Use
The information you provide to Ucloo on certain Ucloo websites may also be used, with your permission, by Ucloo and selected third parties for marketing purposes. Before we use it, we will offer you the opportunity to choose whether or not to have your information used for this purpose.
Ucloo Human Resources Websites
In connection with a job application or inquiry, whether advertised on a Ucloo website or otherwise, you may provide us with information about yourself, such as a resume or curriculum vitae. We may use this information throughout Ucloo and its affiliates for the purpose of employment consideration or your inquiry. Unless you request that we don't, we may keep the information for future consideration.
Information for Business Partners
If you represent a Ucloo Business Partner, you may visit a Ucloo website intended specifically for Ucloo Business Partners. We may use information you provide on that site to administer and develop our business relationship with you, the Business Partner you represent, and Ucloo Business Partners generally. For instance, we may use your information to send you details of Ucloo Business Partner programs. We may share certain information with other Business Partners (subject to any confidentiality obligations that may exist), or Ucloo customers or prospects. In connection with a particular transaction or program, we also may contact you as part of a satisfaction survey or for market research purposes.
Other Ucloo Website Notices
In some cases, specific Ucloo websites may contain other notices about their use and the information practices applicable to those sites. You should carefully review any such notices before providing any personal information or purchasing any product or service.
Information Security
We intend to protect your personal information and to maintain its quality. We implement appropriate measures and processes, such as using encryption when transmitting certain sensitive information, to help us keep your information secure and maintain its quality.
Cookies, and Other Web Technologies
We sometimes collect non-identifiable information from visits to our websites to help us provide better customer service. For example, we keep track of the domains from which people visit, and we also measure visitor activity on Ucloo websites, but we do so in ways that keep our visitors' identities anonymous. Ucloo may use this data to analyze trends and statistics and to help us provide better customer service.
We collect the information we mentioned in the previous paragraphs through the use of various technologies, including one called "cookies". A cookie is a piece of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer as an anonymous tag that identifies your computer but not you. Some Ucloo pages use cookies, sent by Ucloo or its third party vendors, or other technologies to better serve you when you return to the website. You can set your browser to notify you before you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. You also can set your browser to turn off cookies. If you do so, however, some websites may not work properly.
Online Advertising
Certain companies help us deliver interactive on-line advertising. These companies may collect and use information about customers to help us better understand the offers, promotions, and types of advertising that are most appealing to our customers. After the information is collected, it is aggregated so it is not identifiable to a specific individual.
Disclosures Required By Law
Please be aware that in certain circumstances, it is possible that personal information may be subject to disclosure pursuant to judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants, or orders.
Links to Non-Ucloo websites
Ucloo websites may contain links to other third party websites. Ucloo is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those other websites.
Enforcement
Ucloo regularly reviews its compliance with this Policy. Please feel free to direct any questions or concerns regarding this Policy to Ucloo by sending an email to cs@ucloo.com or by writing us. It is Ucloo's policy to directly respond to user questions or complaints.
